We're used to seeing Julianne Hough in bright ballroom gowns adorned with ladylike flowers or shimmering sequins, but this week, the Dancing with the Stars judge decided to switch things up with an unexpected look. Hough flaunted her toned abs in a sexy black dress by Solace London with peek-a-boo cutouts. But the show-stopping number wasn't the only surprise in her latest look.
Instead of her familiar updos or signature waves, the 27-year-old went for a sleek, straight hairstyle. To create the eye-popping look, hair stylist Riawna Capri parted Hough's strands in a deep side part, brushed her tresses behind one ear, and allowed the other side to fall forward framing the dancer's face.
Hough also took a break from her usual soft makeup, and pumped up the wow factor with a bold hypnotizing eye. To create the brilliant smoky effect, makeup pro Spencer Barnes turned to Kiko Milano's Water Eyeshadows ($14; kikocosmetics.com). He blended the product using four different shades: Dark Slate Green, Golden Mauve, Champagne, and Olive Green. Barnes revealed to InStyle, "Julianne loves how dimensional they are and how they magically caught the light during the show's taping." The darker hues were concentrated on Hough's crease while the lighter tones highlighted her eyelid's inner corner and brow bone area. To build up her peepers Barnes, "waved the wand of Kiko Milano Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara ($14; kikocosmetics.com)," on her top and bottom lashes.
Barnes also paid close attention to other areas of her face and body in order to make the judge's skin illuminate. "I applied final touches using Kiko Milano Cream Radiance Highlighter 02 ($17; kikocosmetics.com) on her checks, bridge of the nose, and décolletage," perfecting another flawless look from head to toe.
